Tip pizza delivery guy?

So me and my roommate are broke and hungry so we're going to order a pizza online. The pizza costs $12 including a $2 delivery charge. I have a coupon for $10 off online order (that expires soon) and I'm going to use my debit card to pay the extra $2.



I only have $4 in the bank (minus the $2 i'll spend on the pizza) so I don't have enough money in my account to use a ATM. Therefore I can't tip the driver :( Will he be mad? Or should I not order at all?

You can add the tip to the receipt and they will deduct it with the price of the pizza to your account. Example:



subtotal: 2.00 with coupon

tip: 2.00

total: 4.00



at least your poor pizza guy gets something for hauling your food to you.

Tough call. The pizza guy makes his living off the tips, so it's a little rough to not give one to him. That said, maybe you could order it now, get his name and drop $2 off to his work when you get paid?

No, you do not have to tip. If I do tip it is because they got here fast and the Pizza was steaming hot!
I don't think he'll necessarily be mad. But if you guys can find some extra money you should tip. It's the kind and polite thing to do. Plus they make most of their money from tips, so this time it's okay but next time, be sure to tip.

You got the wrong idea about how to spend your $4. You can feed yourself and your starving roommate on $4 by going to the grocery store, buying a pound of cabbage, a pound of onions, a chicken leg, and a can of tomato sauce. Cook it all up on a pan. It will take about half an hour. It will be healthier and faster than waiting for the delivery. Then, tomorrow morning, both you and the infamous roomate go out to every business you encounter to ask for jobs. If you work, then you will eat!!
