My family just opened a new pizza place and we need more bussiness. We have tried everything, talking to schools, radio stations, newspaper, direct mail, door hanging, and recently we have been giving out 25%off coupons but we are still not getting enough bussiness. We have a great location, right next a liquor store and a grocery store. What can we do to increase bussiness? My family just opened a new pizza place and we aren't getting enough bussiness?
If there is a college campus around with on campus housing, give out coupons and flyers in that area bc that is how pizza places in our neighborhood thrive.
Also, delivery specials are killer, offer 2 for 1 deals on Friday nights for a while and see the effects.
Make sure the pizzas are good. If they are cheap but not good, you wont get business.
The person with the guriella marketing tactics is on point as well.
Good luck!
I find that I go to pizzerias that have a wide range of pizzas. My family and I make delicious homemade pizzas all the time, and here are some gold star recipes:
Chicken Cheese Quesadilla Pizza .
Use regular pizza dough. Place rolled out dough on the pizza pan. Take mexican cheese, (cheddar with mexican seasonings) and spread healthily onto dough. Create a salsa with chunks of tomatoes, etc. Spread on top of cheese like sauce. Next, sprinkle small bits of chicken cutlet (pre-cooked slightly) across the entire pizza, and top with more of the mexican cheese. Heat until cheese is melted, chicken is thoroughly cooked and crust is golden brown.'
Taco Pizza
Use same mexican cheese and spread on the dough. Next top with ground beef mixed with taco seasonings on top. Spread a healthy amount of lettuce, followed by salsa, and topped with more of the cheese.
Chicken Tomato
Simple - dough, followed by mozzarella, small pieces of chicken, and small chunks of tomato, with salt and pepper.
Portabello Mushroom Pizza
Thick crust sicilian style pizza dough, with mozzarella, salt, pepper, some oregano and a little crushed pepper. In another bowl mix portabello mushrooms, tomato, onions, a little pepper, and some small pieces of broccoli (mainly mushrooms and tomatoes) with a nice balsamic vinegar, not to strong and not to much, mix well so that all ingredients are coated, and finally place on pizza.
Other pizzas : white, salad, ravioli, margherita, eggplant parmesan ***, chicken parmesan, chicken francese, chicken ala vodka, pasta, barbeque, buffalo, etc.
Try serving as well as pizza, pastas, rolls (pepperoni, chicken, sausage, broccoli), personal pan pizzas, and some desserts like zeppoles and cookies. My family just opened a new pizza place and we aren't getting enough bussiness?
Man, this is my forte, but I need way more information then what you have here.
The last store I worked at I increased sales by 20% and it was just a small podunk town (population under 8000) with NINE other pizza places including Domino's and Pizza Hut!
I'd be more than happy to help. But have lots of questions for you.
Like for example, what town or city do you live in? What apartment buildings/complexes are nearby? What is the average make-up of your neighborhood (working mom's, blue collar families, low-median-high income)? What's your menu look like?
I'll say this much for starters: this is a rough economic time to open any business. Customer service is your number one priority, and you will want to stay away from coupons because people will get used to the deep discounts that all the other pizza joints are offering. More than anything, you need to stand out from the other pizza places.
You can email me at sbargdill @ yahoo . com
...and we can talk. :)
Have a open house for two hours. Like 11am to 1pm. Lunch time.
Have plain pizza cut into little squares and have people try them.
They say you have to spend money to make money.
A another great thing to try. Talk to the manager of the grocerey store
and ask him if you can set up a pizza booth and give samples out.
Then anyone that trys. Give them a coupon for a pizza and wing special. You know that lent coming up very soon.Having fresh fish frys
with either french fries or a pasta. That will help your business. What
ever you do,Do not serve frozen fish. You will turn people away.
I WISH YOU ALL THE LUCK YOU CAN GET.My family just opened a new pizza place and we aren't getting enough bussiness?
Try to advertise in places that specifically target the exact type of customer you're looking for as much as possible. Try to gain repeat business from current customers and gain new customers from your current through a referral program or a "lunch club" where they buy so many slices, etc. and get one free.
The Guerrilla Marketing series is great for how to advertise on the cheap for small businesses and anyone can use it. All of the advice they give is golden. It's also great for tips on how to market in tough economic times.
Good luck!
You have some other options.
Some 1 can hold signs out by the nearest busy intersection pointing to the location to your business. Itd be good to get a nice, professional looking sign to hold.
Have you tried commercials? Check around to see if you can get a cheap slot for a commercial to make!
Heres something that'll give you a bunch of ideas!
I know theres a picture of a book with a price, but look under it, they have the whole book laid out in PDF format for free!

this is hard time.. and just opening up a new place is very difficult because you are new! and some folks are tight now days with their money.... you could offer delivery...:) are you using right kind of advertising? like for instance coupons are great way you said you did that but how were they distributed?... best way is to offer something they cant refuse... like you could give them free dessert with purchase of two dinners... or do a family special such as... pizza, breadsticks, and basket sampler :) that oppeal to people now days.. more for buck so to speak and if your food is good the ppl will come back and tell others about it... that is how you get established and do better... just try more ways to get ppl to eat there... good luck!! hang in there dont give up.....
As a pizza lover and an Italian I can tell you one thing...If your pizza/food is Wonderful they will come..Here in Vegas a ex NYer opened a pizza restaurant, Tho slow at first, He started offering 2 for 1's and FREE delivery..Also, daily special aimed at family night Specials.
Flyer's are a GREAT way to advertise..Flyer's on neighborhood doors seemed to work also. Wishing You all the Best! 0:)
try to get involved in some of the schools in your area (especially around Valentine's day and stuff) because parents as well as kids will be served. if they like your food, they will buy again from the school and from home. be sure to give the school some sort of discount though, or else you won't get their business
offer delivery service if you haven't thought of it already.
Hook up with a local bar. Freeze your 1/2 cooked pies...individual size...and they will have to heat in a toaster/oven. Skip the profit...cover your expenses. They are promoting and preparing. You're doing it for exposure.
take in free pizzas to hospitals for the nurses and other businesses with a flyer. They will remember you and next time they order they will call you if the food doesn't suck.
well, you can ask your friends and relatives to tell everyone they know.
Try more promotions and specials.
