Does your loving gesture come with a pizza coupon? Why are people more upset with my door-to-door pamphlets than with Jehovah's Witnesses?
I think the key word in this argument is "religion". The problem with going door to door is, it seems like a gimmick. The whole motive is not to make it about religion, but when Jehovah's witnesses come door to door, it is as if they are trying to sell their way of life. I am a Christian, and when I witness I don't do it to the point where it seems I am out to sell anything. In my mind, God has all of the power to save, all I have to do is speak my peace and go about my business. The problem with that approach is that it doesn't give those you come in contact with a feeling that you care. You can give them pamphlets all day long, but if you do so in a "sales man" attitude then they will see you as a pest. Most people don't want to be bothered by door to door tactics as it stands, but if you do it in a way that is brash or not caring then of course they will be upset. Why are people more upset with my door-to-door pamphlets than with Jehovah's Witnesses?
its a waste of paper you should have e*pamphlets
that way we can just erase them in our email. rather than throw them away and waster paper and make trash.
I think that no matter what you are passing out, it is always irritating. Remember, even when people are passing out free movie tickets, people are still annoyed with being bothered, even if it is worth money what you are giving them.
If it is of a religious nature, it is particularly irritating because most people feel it is none of your business what they believe, and they are not interested in what you believe, and "who the hell do you think you are coming around here passing out your crap?"
